ACPC Extends Relief To Families Affected By Taal Volcano Eruption

MANKAYAN, Benguet - Pocket miners from the different parts of this mining town had delivered to a number of evacuation centers in the various areas affected by the eruption of the scenic Taal Volcano the relief goods that their associations were able to generate over the past two weeks. Luzon Island, Philippines - Due to an eruption of Taal Volcano on January 12, more than 20,ooo residents in Batangas and Cavite Provinces have been affected and as many as 7,000 people have been forced to evacuate.

The proposal is easier said than done, with residents trying to go back to their homes even while Taal Volcano was showing strong signs of unrest. Thousands of families were evacuated to 300 evacuation center and millions of pesos were pooled to aid in the relief of the affected families.

Inside the volcano is the Crater Lake, and inside this lake is yet another volcanic island called Vulcan Point.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi endorsed the proposed 3 Million Pesos (Php 3,000,000.00) donation for the recovery and rehabilitation of Batangas towns affected by Taal Sonyas garden Volcano's unrest. He continues by saying that TMP decided to downscale the 2020 Media Thanksgiving Party and reallocated the funds in order to support the victims of the Taal volcano eruption.

BATANGAS, Philippines — A day after the Taal Volcano erupted on Sunday, January 12, 2020, volunteers of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) conducted a Lingap sa Mamamayan (Aid To Humanity) activity to help those severely affected by the eruption in two Philippine provinces, Batangas and Cavite.

The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology is studying a seeming decrease in volcanic activity on Taal, noting the volcanic earthquakes there have been diminishing. US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim visits a school serving as an evacuation center in Nasugbu, Batangas and distributes supplies to the evacuees.

Although thousands have likely lost their livelihoods, Dr. Miranda said it would be some weeks before the Philippines' government knows the extent of the damage. Meanwhile, community organizations like the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation have started relief operations for victims of the volcanic eruption.
